Product Introduction
The metallic magnesium production line is a marvel of modern engineering, featuring a rotary kiln meticulously designed to cater to the specific calcining characteristics of dolomite and meet the precise requirements of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting. It serves as the robust foundation of the dolomite calcining system. This cutting-edge products emerging from the rotary kiln consistently exhibit stable and homogeneous quality, boasting exceptional activity and minimal ignition loss. This guarantees full adherence to Pidgeon method standards for magnesium smelting, thereby enhancing magnesium extraction rates and optimizing the use of silicon, while significantly reducing the production and consumption costs associated with metallic magnesium. It is the pinnacle of equipment for dolomite calcination in the magnesium industry, establishing the highest standards of excellence.
The comprehensive magnesiumsmelting process encompasses raw material storage, dolomite calcination, grinding, briquetting, reduction, and refining. Initially, raw dolomite is meticulously crushed to the optimal sizes (20-40mm) by specialized crushers, sintered in a rotary kiln, and efficiently cooled by an advanced cooler. It's further pulverized into fine powder via state-of-the-art ball mill machinery and shaped into balls using a high-performance ball press. Calcination occurs in a rotary or vertical kiln, converting dolomite into calcined white. This is then expertly blended with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to form a perfect dough, placed in a heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tank, and subjected to reduction in a furnace at temperatures of 1200-1250°C with a vacuum of 1.33Pa. The process concludes with the extraction of crude magnesium, followed by flux refining, ingot casting, and careful surface treatment to produce superior magnesium ingots.
