The entire magnesiumsmelting process is a meticulous sequence of stages: commencing with raw material storage, advancing through dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, and concluding with reduction and refining. Initially, raw dolomite is crushed to ideal sizes (20-40mm) with a crusher, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled, and finely ground with a ball mill. This powder is compressed into balls via a ball press. The calcined dolomite is mixed uniformly with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to create a cohesive dough, loaded into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. In the reduction furnace, temperatures are elevated to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, where crude magnesium is extracted, refined, cast into ingots, and surface-treated to produce finished magnesium ingots.
