It seamlessly satisfies the stringent criteria of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting, optimizing the magnesium extraction rate and enhancing silicon utilization, which significantly reduces production expenses and metallic magnesium consumption,. It is the quintessential equipment for dolomite calcination in the magnesium production industry.
The comprehensive magnesium smelting processfollows a meticulously orchestrated sequence: starting with raw material storage, advancing to dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, and concluding with reduction and refining. Initially, raw dolomite is crushed to optimal dimensions (20-40mm) with a crusher, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled efficiently in a cooler, and finely pulverized by a ball mill. This powder is subsequently compacted into balls using a ball press. The calcined dolomite is then thoroughly blended with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to create a cohesive mixture, which is placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction containers. Within the reduction furnace, the temperature escalates to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, where crude magnesium is extracted, further purified, cast into ingots, and subjected to surface treatment to produce pristine magnesium ingots.
