The metallic magnesium production line is an innovative and specialized rotary kiln, meticulously crafted after thorough research of the calcining traits of dolomite and adhering to the precise procedures of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting. This state-of-the-art kiln serves as the pivotal machinery within the dolomite calcining system. The products produced by this advanced rotary kiln exhibit remarkable stability and uniformity in quality, ensuring, high activity and low ignition loss. Fully aligned with the stringent process specifications of the Pidgeon method, it significantly enhances both the magnesium extraction rate and the efficiency of silicon utilization. It thereby effectively minimizes the production costs and consumption of metal magnesium,. It stands as the quintessential equipment for the calcination of dolomite, setting new benchmarks in the magnesium industry.
The comprehensive magnesium smelting procedure encompasses several critical stages: raw material storage, dolomite calcination, grinding, briquetting, reduction, and refining. Initially, the raw material, dolomite, undergoes crushing into suitable sizes (20-40mm) via a crusher. It is then sintered in a rotary kiln, followed by cooling through a cooler, ground into fine powder by a ball mill, and subsequently pressed into balls by a ball press. The calcination occurs in the rotary kiln or a vertical kiln, transforming dolomite into calcined white. This is then meticulously crushed and thoroughly mixed with ferrosilicon powder and fluorite powder to form a dough, which is placed into a heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tank. The tank is positioned in a reduction furnace, subjected to temperatures of 1200-1250°C and a vacuum of 1.33Pa. Crude magnesium is extracted, then undergoes flux refining, ingot casting, and surface treatment to yield pristine finished magnesium ingots, ready for various industrial applications.
