Product Introduction
The metallic magnesium production line is a marvel of modern engineering-a rotary kiln designed with precision to cater to the exact calcining properties of dolomite and the stringent demands of the Pidgeon method in magnesium smelting. This sophisticated kiln is the linchpin of the dolomite calcining system. The pinnacle of innovation, products emerging from the rotary kiln are distinguished by their consistently stable and homogeneous quality, showcasing exceptional activity and negligible ignition loss. These factors ensure full adherence to Pidgeon method standards for magnesium smelting, boosting the magnesium extraction rate and optimizing silicon utilization, while significantly reducing the production and consumption costs associated with metallic magnesium. It is the ultimate equipment for dolomite calcination within the magnesium industry, setting the gold standard for excellence.
The elaborate magnesiumsmelting process encompasses raw material storage, dolomite calcination, grinding, briquetting, reduction, and refining. Initially, the raw dolomite is carefully crushed to ideal sizes (20-40mm) by specialized crushers, then sintered in a rotary kiln and efficiently cooled by a state-of-the-art cooler. It is further ground to a fine powder using advanced ball mill machinery and molded into balls with a high-performance ball press. Calcination occurs in a rotary or vertical kiln, converting dolomite into calcined white, which is then skillfully mixed with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to form a perfect dough. This mixture is placed in a heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tank and subjected to reduction at furnace temperatures of 1200-1250°C and a vacuum of 1.33Pa. The process concludes with the extraction of crude magnesium, followed by flux refining, ingot casting, and precise surface treatment to produce superior magnesium ingots.
