This sophisticated method, known as the rotary kiln volatilization technique, meticulously blends zinc oxide ore with the ideal quantities of coke powder or smokeless crushed coal. This precisely calibrated mixture is then expertly fed into the rotary kiln through the kiln tail discharge pipe. As the kiln majestically rotates, the materials smoothly advance. A robust forced blast crafts a high-temperature reaction zone within the kiln, achieving an extraordinary 1000-1200ºC. This extreme heat facilitates the reduction of zinc metal compounds through a carbon reducing agent, converting them into zinc metal vapor, which transitions into the gas phase. Within this phase, the zinc vapor meets oxygen, which transforms it into zinc oxide dust. This dust is skillfully gathered by the dust collection system, along with the flue gas, culminating in the extraction of a low-grade zinc oxide product. Furthermore, metals rich in zinc, such as lead and indium, are reduced and oxidized to contribute to the final product, while copper and precious metals like gold and silver remain within the kiln slag.
