Product Introduction
The metallic magnesium production line is a masterfully designed rotary kiln, crafted with precision to meet the specific calcining characteristics of dolomite and the rigorous standards of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting. It serves as the pivotal component of the dolomite calcining system. This cutting-edge products produced from the rotary kiln maintain consistently stable and uniform quality, demonstrating exceptional activity and minimal ignition loss. This ensures full alignment with Pidgeon method standards for magnesium smelting, thereby boosting the extraction rate of magnesium and optimizing silicon usage, while significantly reducing the production and consumption costs associated with metallic magnesium. It stands as the essential equipment for dolomite calcination within the magnesium industry, setting new standards of excellence.
The comprehensive magnesiumsmelting process encompasses raw material storage, dolomite calcination, grinding, briquetting, reduction, and refining. Initially, the raw dolomite is precisely crushed into ideal sizes (20-40mm) by specialized crushers, then sintered in a rotary kiln and efficiently cooled by an advanced cooler. It is further pulverized into fine powder using state-of-the-art ball mill machinery and formed into balls via a high-performance ball press. The calcination occurs in a rotary or vertical kiln, converting dolomite into calcined white. This is then meticulously blended with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to create a perfect dough, placed in a heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tank, and subjected to reduction in a furnace, reaching temperatures of 1200-1250°C and a vacuum of 1.33Pa. The process culminates with the extraction of crude magnesium, followed by flux refining, ingot casting, and detailed surface treatment to deliver superior magnesium ingots.
