This design not only improves the magnesium extraction rate but also optimizes silicon utilization, significantly reducing production costs and metallic magnesium consumption,. It stands as the quintessential equipment for dolomite calcination in the magnesium manufacturing industry.
The comprehensive process of magnesiumsmelting is meticulously executed through sequential stages: starting with raw material storage, progressing through dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, and culminating in reduction and refining. Initially, raw dolomite is crushed into ideal sizes (20-40mm) using a crusher, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a cooler, and finely ground by a ball mill. This powder is then compressed into balls using a ball press. The calcined dolomite is uniformly blended with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to create a cohesive mixture, placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. Within the reduction furnace, temperatures soar to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, where crude magnesium is extracted, further refined, cast into ingots, and subjected to surface treatment to produce finished magnesium ingots of the highest quality.
