Product Introduction
The metallic magnesium production line features an expertly crafted rotary kiln. This advanced kiln is meticulously engineered to meet the distinct calcining needs of dolomite and the exacting process requirements of the reputable Pidgeon method, renowned for magnesium smelting. As the cornerstone of the dolomite calcining system, it offers unmatched efficiency and precision. Products crafted by this state-of-the-art rotary kiln exhibit remarkable stability and uniform quality throughout each batch,boasting high reactivity, and showcasing minimal loss on ignition. It seamlessly meets the rigorous standards of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting, optimizing the magnesium extraction rate and enhancing silicon utilization, significantly reducing production costs and the consumption of metallic magnesium,making it indispensable equipment for dolomite calcination within the magnesium manufacturing industry.
The comprehensive magnesiumsmelting process unfolds flawlessly through a series of precise stages: from raw material storage to dolomite calcination, through grinding and briquetting, culminating in reduction and refining. Initially, raw dolomite is processed into ideal sizes (20-40mm) using a crusher, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a cooler, then finely ground by a ball mill. This powder is compressed into balls using a ball press. The calcined dolomite is meticulously mixed with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders, forming a cohesive dough, then placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. Within the reduction furnace, temperatures are increased to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, extracting crude magnesium, which is further refined, cast into ingots, and treated to produce finished magnesium ingots.
