This innovative design not only improves the magnesium extraction rate but also enhances silicon utilization, significantly reducing production costs and the consumption of metallic magnesium,. It stands as the indispensable equipment for dolomite calcination within the magnesium manufacturing sector.
The complete process of magnesiumsmelting unfolds through a meticulously orchestrated series of stages: starting with raw material storage, followed by dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, and culminating in reduction and refining. Initially, raw dolomite is broken down into optimal sizes (20-40mm) using a crusher, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a cooler, and finely ground by a ball mill. This powder is then compressed into balls using a ball press. The calcined dolomite is then uniformly mixed with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to form a cohesive dough, which is placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. Within the reduction furnace, the temperature is elevated to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, where crude magnesium is extracted, further refined, cast into ingots, and finally subjected to surface treatment to yield finished magnesium ingots.
