This innovative design augments the magnesium extraction rate and optimizes silicon utilization, dramatically reducing production costs and metallic magnesium consumption,. It represents the essential equipment for dolomite calcination in the magnesium manufacturing domain.
The comprehensive magnesiumsmelting process unfolds through a well-coordinated series of stages: starting with raw material storage, followed by dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, culminating in reduction and refining. Initially, the raw dolomite is broken down into optimal sizes (20-40mm) using a crusher, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a cooler, and finely ground by a ball mill. This powder is then compressed into balls using a ball press. The calcined dolomite is then uniformly mixed with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to form a cohesive dough, placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. Within the reduction furnace, the temperature is elevated to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, where crude magnesium is extracted, meticulously refined, cast into ingots, and subjected to surface treatment to produce refined magnesium ingots.
