Product Introduction
The metallic magnesium production line features an expertly crafted rotary kiln, meticulously engineered to cater to the unique calcining characteristics of dolomite. This design meets the stringent process demands of the prestigious Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting. Serving as the linchpin of the dolomite calcining system, it delivers unmatched efficiency and precision. products generated from this state-of-the-art rotary kiln exhibit extraordinary stability and consistent quality,boasting high reactivity, and minimal loss on ignition. It flawlessly satisfies the rigorous requirements of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting, improving magnesium extraction rates and enhancing silicon utilization. This significantly reduces production costs and metallic magnesium consumption,establishing it as the indispensable equipment for dolomite calcination in the magnesium manufacturing sector.
The complete magnesiumsmelting process unfolds through a series of meticulous stages: starting with raw material storage, followed by dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, and culminating in reduction and refining. Initially, raw dolomite is broken down to optimal sizes (20-40mm) using a crusher, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a cooler, and finely ground by a ball mill. This powder is compressed into balls using a ball press. The calcined dolomite is uniformly mixed with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to form a cohesive dough, placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. Within the reduction furnace, the temperature is raised to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa. Here, crude magnesium is extracted, refined, cast into ingots, and subjected to surface treatment to yield finished magnesium ingots.
