This ensures full compliance with Pidgeon method standards for magnesium smelting, thereby enhancing the magnesium extraction rate and optimizing silicon utilization. Furthermore, it substantially lowers both the production and consumption costs associated with metal magnesium.. It is the quintessential equipment for dolomite calcination within the magnesium sector, setting an industry benchmark for excellence.
The comprehensive magnesiumsmelting process encompasses raw material storage, dolomite calcination, grinding, briquetting, reduction, and refining. Initially, the raw dolomite is precision-crushed into optimal sizes (20-40mm) using specialized crushers, then sintered in a rotary kiln and cooled efficiently by a sophisticated cooler. Further pulverization into fine powder through advanced ball mill machinery is followed by forming into balls using a high-performance ball press. The calcination in a rotary or vertical kiln transforms dolomite into calcined white. This is meticulously amalgamated with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to create a perfect dough, placed in a heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tank, and subjected to reduction in a furnace at temperatures of 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa. The process culminates with the extraction of crude magnesium, followed by flux refining, ingot casting, and meticulous surface treatment to yield premium magnesium ingots.
