This state-of-the-art products emerging from the rotary kiln exhibit consistently stable and homogenous quality, boasting remarkable activity and minimal ignition loss. This ensures full compliance with Pidgeon method standards for magnesium smelting, thus enhancing the magnesium extraction rate and optimizing silicon utilization, while substantially lowering the production and consumption costs associated with metal magnesium. It is the quintessential equipment for dolomite calcination within the magnesium sector, setting the benchmark for excellence.
The comprehensive magnesiumsmelting process spans raw material storage, dolomite calcination, grinding, briquetting, reduction, and refining. Initially, the raw dolomite is precision-crushed into optimal sizes (20-40mm) by specialized crushers, then sintered with exceptional efficiency in a rotary kiln and cooled effectively by a sophisticated cooler. It is further pulverized into fine powder through advanced ball mill machinery and formed into balls using a high-performance ball press. The calcination occurs in a rotary or vertical kiln, transforming dolomite into calcined white. This is then meticulously combined with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to create a perfect dough, placed in a heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tank, and subjected to reduction in a furnace, reaching temperatures of 1200-1250°C and a vacuum of 1.33Pa. The process culminates with the extraction of crude magnesium, followed by flux refining, ingot casting, and meticulous surface treatment to yield premium magnesium ingots.
