The metallic magnesium production line is an expertly crafted rotary kiln, meticulously engineered to address the unique calcining characteristics of dolomite and the stringent process demands of the esteemed Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting. This kiln is the cornerstone of the dolomite calcining system, offering unmatched efficiency and precision at every stage. products produced by this state-of-the-art rotary kiln consistently exhibit remarkable stability and unwavering quality, boasting high reactivity and minimal loss on ignition. It flawlessly meets the rigorous standards of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting, amplifying the magnesium extraction rate and optimizing silicon utilization. This significantly reduces production costs and metallic magnesium consumption,. It stands as the indispensable equipment for dolomite calcination in the magnesium manufacturing sector.
The complete magnesiumsmelting process unfolds through a series of meticulously coordinated stages: starting with raw material storage, followed by dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, and culminating in reduction and refining. Initially, raw dolomite is crushed into optimal sizes (20-40mm) using a crusher, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled, and finely ground by a ball mill. This powder is then pressed into balls using a ball press. The calcined dolomite is uniformly mixed with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to form a cohesive dough, which is placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. Within the reduction furnace, the temperature is elevated to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, during which crude magnesium is extracted, further refined, cast into ingots, and undergoes surface treatment to produce finished magnesium ingots of superior quality.
