In the preheat zone, materials utilize the heat of flue gases; within the calcination zone, they are calcined through the heat generated by fuel combustion; in the cooling zone, the hot calcined materials impart their heat to the incoming cold air, cooling themselves while energizing the combustion process with pre-heated air.
