This innovative design not only optimizes the magnesium extraction rate but also enhances silicon utilization, significantly reducing production costs and metallic magnesium consumption,. It is essential equipment for dolomite calcination in the magnesium manufacturing industry.
The comprehensive magnesiumsmelting process unfolds through a series of precise stages: starting with raw material storage, followed by dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, and concluding with reduction and refining. Initially, the raw dolomite is broken down into ideal sizes (20-40mm) using a crusher, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a cooler, and finely ground by a ball mill. This powder is then compressed into balls using a ball press. The calcined dolomite is then uniformly mixed with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to create a cohesive dough, placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. In the reduction furnace, the temperature is elevated to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, where crude magnesium is extracted, further refined, cast into ingots, and subject to surface treatment to produce finished magnesium ingots.
