Product Introduction
The metallic magnesium production line is a masterfully designed rotary kiln, precisely engineered to meet the distinct calcining requirements of dolomite and the high standards of the renowned Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting. This kiln is the cornerstone of the dolomite calcining process, providing unmatched efficiency and accuracy. products produced by this cutting-edge rotary kiln exhibit remarkable stability and consistent quality, featuring high reactivity and minimal weight loss upon ignition, it perfectly aligns with the stringent requirements of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting. This design elevates the magnesium extraction rate and optimizes silicon utilization, greatly reducing production costs and metallic magnesium consumption,. It is an essential piece of equipment for dolomite calcination in the magnesium production industry.
The comprehensive magnesiumsmelting process unfolds through a series of meticulous stages: starting with raw material storage, followed by dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, and concluding with reduction and refining. Initially, raw dolomite is broken down into optimal sizes (20-40mm) using a crusher, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a cooler, and finely ground by a ball mill. This powder is then compressed into balls using a ball press. The calcined dolomite is then uniformly blended with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to form a cohesive dough, placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. Within the reduction furnace, the temperature is elevated to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, where crude magnesium is extracted, further refined, cast into ingots, and subjected to surface treatment to produce finished magnesium ingots.
