This ingenious procedure begins when zinc oxide ore is expertly mixed with precisely measured amounts of coke powder or smokeless crushed coal. This perfect blend is then introduced into the rotary kiln through the kiln tail discharge pipe. As the kiln majestically rotates, the materials gracefully advance, aided by a powerful forced blast. Inside the kiln, an intense high-temperature reaction zone is formed, reaching awe-inspiring temperatures of 1000-1200ºC. This searing heat enables the reduction of zinc metal compounds by a carbon reducing agent, transforming them into metal zinc vapor that seamlessly enters the gas phase. Upon encountering oxygen from the air, the zinc vapor oxidizes into zinc oxide dust. Our sophisticated dust collection system deftly captures this zinc oxide dust, along with the flue gas, culminating in the extraction of a high-quality low-grade zinc oxide product. Furthermore, metals rich in zinc, including lead and indium, undergo reduction and oxidation, enhancing the final product. Meanwhile, copper and valuable metals like gold and silver elegantly remain within the kiln slag, preserving their integrity.
