Our rotary kiln is meticulously crafted to perfectly align with the calcining characteristics of dolomite and the stringent requirements of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting. This kiln is the cornerstone of the dolomite calcining system, boasting state-of-the-art design and functionality. products emerging from our advanced rotary kiln consistently exhibit a stable and homogenous quality, showcasing outstanding activity and minimal ignition loss. This ensures full compliance with the rigorous standards of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting, thereby enhancing magnesium yield and optimizing silicon utilization, all while significantly reducing the costs associated with the production and consumption of metallic magnesium.. It stands as the quintessential equipment for dolomite calcination within the magnesium industry, setting a new benchmark for excellence.
The comprehensive magnesiumsmelting process encompasses every critical step: from raw material storage, precise dolomite calcination, and grinding, to briquetting, reduction, and refining. Initially, raw dolomite is expertly crushed into optimal sizes (20-40mm) by specialized crushers, then sintered in our rotary kiln and efficiently cooled by a sophisticated cooler. Further, it is pulverized into fine powder through cutting-edge ball mill machinery and formed into balls with a high-performance ball press. The calcination process takes place in a rotary or vertical kiln, transforming dolomite into calcined white. This is meticulously blended with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to create a perfect dough, which is then placed in a heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tank and subjected to reduction in a furnace at temperatures of 1200-1250°C and a vacuum of 1.33Pa. This intricate process culminates in the extraction of crude magnesium, followed by flux refining, ingot casting, and meticulous surface treatment to produce premium quality magnesium ingots.
