Product Introduction
The metallic magnesium production line features an expertly engineered rotary kiln, meticulously crafted to align with the unique calcining attributes of dolomite and the specific requirements of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting. As the cornerstone of the highly efficient dolomite calcining system, this state-of-the-art products emerging from the rotary kiln maintain consistently stable and homogenous quality,while boasting remarkable activity and showcasing minimal ignition loss. This ensures the full compliance with the Pidgeon method standards for magnesium smelting, significantly enhancing the magnesium extraction rate and optimizing silicon utilization, while effectively lowering the production and consumption costs associated with metal magnesium manufacturing,rendering it the quintessential equipment for dolomite calcination within the magnesium sector, setting the benchmark for excellence in the industry.
The comprehensive magnesiumsmelting process covers stages from raw material storage, dolomite calcination, grinding, briquetting, reduction, to refining. The process begins with raw dolomite being precision-crushed into optimal sizes (20-40mm) using specialized crushers, then sintered in a rotary kiln and cooled by a sophisticated cooler. It is further pulverized into fine powder through an advanced ball mill and formed into balls using a high-performance ball press. Calcination occurs in a rotary or vertical kiln, transforming dolomite into calcined white. This is then combined with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to form a perfect dough, placed in a heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tank, and subjected to reduction in a furnace, at temperatures of 1200-1250°C and a vacuum of 1.33Pa. The process concludes with the extraction of crude magnesium, followed by flux refining, ingot casting, and meticulous surface treatment to yield premium magnesium ingots.
