As the kiln rotates with precision, the materials advance with grace, supported by a strategic forced blast. This creates a high-temperature reaction zone within the kiln, reaching an impressive 1000-1200ºC. Such intense heat propels the reduction of zinc metal compounds by a carbon reducing agent, converting them into metal zinc vapor that transitions into the gas phase. As zinc vapor engages with oxygen in the air, it undergoes oxidation to form zinc oxide dust, which is deftly captured by the dust collection system along with the flue gas. The result is a high-efficiency extraction of low-grade zinc oxide product. Moreover, metals brimming with zinc, like lead and indium, are adeptly reduced and oxidized to enhance the final product, while valuable metals such as copper, gold, and silver remain in the kiln slag, highlighting the process's precision and care.
