Product Introduction
As a key thermal processing equipment, the rotary kiln plays a core role in the industrial production of alumina and bauxite. Its essence is a rotating cylinder with a slight inclination (usually 3°-4°), which enables the material to achieve complex compound movement in the kiln through continuous rotation. When processing aluminum hydroxide raw materials, the kiln body rotates continuously at a low speed (0.3-5rpm), and the material is fed from the high end (kiln tail). Under the action of gravity and rotation, it rolls in the circumferential direction while moving axially to the low end (kiln head). In this process, the material goes through key stages such as drying, dehydration, and crystal transformation, and finally transforms into an alumina product that meets the requirements.
In the field of alumina production, rotary kilns are mainly used for aluminum hydroxide roasting and special raw material processing. Aluminum hydroxide roasting requires precise control of the crystal transformation process, and the temperature gradient in the kiln must strictly follow the process curve: the transformation of γ-Al2O3 to α-Al2O3 is completed at around 1000°C. This process directly affects key indicators such as the product specific surface area and repose angle. For special raw materials such as aluminum chloride hexahydrate crystallization, the rotary kiln adopts a "reverse heat exchange design" - wet materials are added from the kiln tail and directly contact with high-temperature flue gas, instantly completing the dehydration and dechlorination reaction (AlCl3·6H2O→Al2O3+6HCl↑), and the generated HCl gas can be recycled to prepare hydrochloric acid, realizing resource recycling.
