The intricate process of magnesium smelting is a well-orchestrated sequence encompassing raw material storage, thorough dolomite calcination, precise grinding and briquetting, followed by efficient reduction and refining. Initially, the raw material, dolomite, is expertly crushed into ideal sizes (20-40mm) using a crusher, then sintered with precision in a rotary kiln. The cooling phase involves a cooler, after which the substance is finely ground into powder via a ball mill and compacted into balls by a ball press. These balls undergo calcination in the rotary or vertical kiln, transforming into calcined white. Subsequently, they are meticulously crushed and blended with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to create a perfect dough. This mixture is then placed in a heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tank, positioned in a reduction furnace, subjected to 1200-1250°C heat and a vacuum of 1.33Pa. The resulting crude magnesium is refined through flux, cast into ingots, and surface treated to become premium finished magnesium ingots.
