This sophisticated process begins with the meticulous blending of zinc oxide ore with precisely measured coke powder or smokeless crushed coal. This perfectly calibrated mixture is then fed into the rotary kiln through the kiln tail discharge pipe. As the rotary kiln performs its majestic rotation, the materials advance smoothly. Enhanced by a forced air blast, a high-temperature reaction zone is established within the kiln, reaching an impressive 1000-1200ºC. Such intense heat catalyzes the reduction of zinc metal compounds, transformed by the carbon reducing agent into metal zinc vapor that enters the gaseous phase. Upon encountering oxygen from the air, this vapor is oxidized into zinc oxide dust, which is expertly captured by the dust collection system alongside the flue gas, culminating in the extraction of a low-grade zinc oxide product. In this intricate process, zinc-rich metals such as lead and indium undergo reduction and oxidation, enriching the final product. Simultaneously, copper, as well as precious metals like gold and silver, elegantly remain as part of the kiln slag.

At the heart of this pioneering process is a robust ensemble of equipment, a testament to engineering prowess: featuring the indispensable Roots blower, the central rotary kiln, a kiln tail smoke chamber, an efficient surface air cooler, a high-performance dust collector, a sophisticated desulfurization system, a precise batching system, an innovative granulator, and an interconnected network of advanced conveying equipment. Together, they ensure a seamless and harmonious operation at every pivotal stage.
