The sophisticated process of magnesium smelting encompasses several integral stages including raw material storage, meticulous dolomite calcination, precise grinding and briquetting, followed by reduction and refining. Initially, the raw dolomite is crushed into precisely sized particles (20-40mm) by advanced crushers, sintered in the rotary kiln, efficiently cooled by specialized coolers, finely ground into powder using a ball mill, and meticulously pressed into uniform balls by a ball press. The dolomite undergoes a thorough calcination process in either a rotary or vertical kiln to become calcined white. It is then expertly crushed and evenly blended with carefully measured quantities of ferrosilicon powder and fluorite powder to form a cohesive dough. This mixture is subsequently placed into a heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tank, introduced into a reduction furnace, and reduced at temperatures of 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa. The resultant crude magnesium is then refined through flux treatment, cast into ingots, and undergoes comprehensive surface treatment to yield high-quality finished magnesium ingots.
