This innovative design boosts the magnesium extraction rate and optimizes silicon usage, dramatically reducing production costs and metallic magnesium consumption,. It is the indispensable apparatus for dolomite calcination within the magnesium production industry.
The entire magnesiumsmelting process unfolds through a series of meticulously orchestrated stages: starting with raw material storage, progressing through dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, and culminating in reduction and refining. Initially, the raw dolomite is broken into optimal sizes (20-40mm) using a crusher, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a cooler, and finely processed by a ball mill. This powder is then compacted into balls using a ball press. The calcined dolomite is subsequently mixed evenly with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to form a cohesive mix, placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. Within the reduction furnace, temperatures soar to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, where crude magnesium is extracted, further refined, cast into ingots, and treated on the surface to produce polished magnesium ingots.
