Product Introduction
The metallic magnesium production line is an ingeniously designed rotary kiln, meticulously crafted to meet the unique calcining characteristics of dolomite and the stringent process requirements of the renowned Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting. This kiln is the cornerstone of the dolomite calcining system, offering unmatched efficiency and precision. products produced by this advanced rotary kiln exhibit remarkable stability and consistent quality, featuring high reactivity and minimal loss on ignition, it impeccably fulfills the rigorous demands of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting. This design enhances the magnesium extraction rate and optimizes silicon utilization, substantially reducing production costs and magnesium consumption,. It stands as the essential equipment for dolomite calcination in the magnesium manufacturing industry.
The comprehensive process of magnesiumsmelting unfolds through a series of precise stages: commencing with raw material storage, followed by dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, and culminating in reduction and refining. Initially, the raw dolomite is reduced to optimal sizes (20-40mm) using a crusher, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a cooler, and finely ground by a ball mill. This powder is then compressed into balls using a ball press. The calcined dolomite is then uniformly blended with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to form a cohesive dough, placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. Within the reduction furnace, the temperature is elevated to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, where crude magnesium is extracted, further refined, cast into ingots, and subjected to surface treatment to yield refined magnesium ingots.
