This innovative design significantly boosts the magnesium extraction rate and enhances the utilization of silicon, drastically reducing production costs and metallic magnesium consumption,. It stands as the indispensable equipment for dolomite calcination in the magnesium manufacturing sector.
The complete process of magnesiumsmelting unfolds through a series of meticulous stages: beginning with raw material storage, followed by dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, and culminating in reduction and refining. Initially, the raw dolomite is expertly processed into optimal sizes (20-40mm) using a crusher, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a cooler, and finely ground by a ball mill. This powder is then skillfully compressed into balls using a ball press. The calcined dolomite is uniformly mixed with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to form a cohesive dough, placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. Within the reduction furnace, the temperature is elevated to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, where crude magnesium is expertly extracted, further refined, cast into ingots, and subjected to surface treatment to yield finished magnesium ingots of the highest quality.
