This remarkable technique, renowned as the rotary kiln volatilization method, commences with the meticulous mixing of zinc oxide ore with precisely measured amounts of coke powder or smokeless crushed coal. This expertly blended mixture is then seamlessly fed into the rotary kiln through the kiln tail discharge pipe. As the kiln gracefully rotates, the materials are gently propelled forward. Assisted by a powerful blast, a high-temperature reaction zone is created within, boasting an impressive heat range of 1000-1200ºC. This intense thermal environment facilitates the reduction of zinc metal compounds using a carbon reducing agent, magically transforming them into metallic zinc vapor in the gas phase. Here, the zinc vapor mingles with the oxygen in the air, culminating in the formation of zinc oxide dust. This dust, along with flue gases, is expertly captured by the advanced dust collection system, resulting in the generation of a low-grade zinc oxide product. Additionally, metals rich in zinc, such as lead and indium, are skillfully reduced and oxidized, becoming integral parts of the final product. Meanwhile, copper and precious metals like gold and silver remain elegantly bound within the kiln slag.
