Línea de Producción de Magnesio Metálico

La línea de producción de magnesio metálico es una instalación industrial diseñada para la fabricación eficiente y continua de magnesio a partir de materias primas como dolomita o magnesita. El magnesio es un metal ligero, de alta resistencia y ampliamente utilizado en las industrias aeroespacial, automotriz, metalúrgica y electrónica.

 

1. Materias primas principales

  • Dolomita : Es la materia prima más común.

  • Ferro-silicio (FeSi): Se utiliza como agente reductor.

  • Cal (CaO): Utilizada para la preparación de dolomita calcinada.

 

2. Principales procesos de producción

La mayoría de las plantas utilizan el proceso Pidgeon, que es térmico y de reducción, aunque también existen procesos electrolíticos. El proceso térmico consta de los siguientes pasos:

  1. Calcinación de dolomita:
    La dolomita se calcina en hornos rotatorios a una temperatura de 900-1000°C para obtener dolomita calcinada (CaO·MgO).

  2. Reducción térmica:
    La dolomita calcinada se mezcla con ferro-silicio y se introduce en retortas de reducción al vacío, donde se calienta a 1.200-1.300°C. El magnesio se libera en forma de vapor.

  3. Condensación:
    El vapor de magnesio se condensa en una zona fría de la retorta para obtener magnesio sólido.

  4. Refinado y fundición:
    El magnesio metálico se funde, refina y se moldea en lingotes o bloques según los requerimientos del cliente.
