The comprehensive process of magnesium smelting encompasses several crucial stages: raw material storage, dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, followed by reduction and refining. Initially, the raw dolomite material is methodically crushed into qualified fragments (20-40mm) using a high-performance crusher. It is then sintered in a state-of-the-art rotary kiln, cooled efficiently by a cooler, finely ground into powder using a ball mill, and subsequently pressed into robust balls via a ball press. This calcined dolomite, achieved within the rotary or vertical kilns, is meticulously processed into 'calcined white', which is then finely crushed and uniformly blended with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to develop a cohesive dough. This mixture is placed into a heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tank and then placed within a reduction furnace heated to an optimal 1200-1250°C under a precise vacuum of 1.33Pa. At this stage, crude magnesium is carefully extracted, undergoing further flux refining, cast into ingots, and given a pristine surface treatment to produce commercially viable, high-quality finished magnesium ingots.
