Thoughtfully engineered to meet the rigorous demands of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting, it serves as the cornerstone of the dolomite calcining system. This engineering masterpiece, products realized through our sophisticated rotary kiln, deliver an unparalleled, stable, and consistently superior quality,with outstanding activity and exceptionally low ignition loss. This is perfectly synchronized with the stringent process requirements of the Pidgeon method, enhancing both magnesium extraction efficiency and silicon utilization. As a result, it significantly curtails the production and consumption costs associated with metallic magnesium,making it the indispensable choice of equipment for flawless dolomite calcination within the magnesium sector.
The intricate process of magnesiumsmelting unfolds as a sophisticated sequence of operations: from the storage of raw materials, dolomite calcination, to grinding and briquetting, followed by reduction and refining. Initially, raw dolomite is meticulously reduced to qualified sizes (20-40mm) using a crusher. This is then sintered in a rotary kiln and cooled using an advanced cooling system. Subsequently, it is ground to a fine powder using a ball mill and pressed into uniform spheres via a ball press. Within either a rotary or vertical kiln, the dolomite undergoes calcination to achieve a pristine calcined white. It is then crushed and seamlessly blended with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to form a homogeneous mix. This amalgam is placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks, subjected to high-temperature reduction at 1200-1250°C, and maintained under an intense vacuum of 1.33Pa. The crude magnesium is then meticulously extracted and undergoes a comprehensive flux refining process, followed by ingot casting and surface treatment, culminating in the creation of premium-grade finished magnesium ingots.
