This kiln stands as the cornerstone of the dolomite calcining system, ensuring unmatched efficiency and precision. products produced by this cutting-edge rotary kiln exhibit remarkable stability and uniform quality, featuring high reactivity and minimal loss on ignition, it adeptly fulfills the stringent criteria of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting. This innovative design enhances the magnesium extraction rate and optimizes silicon utilization, markedly reducing production expenses and metallic magnesium consumption,. It emerges as the vital equipment for dolomite calcination in the magnesium manufacturing industry.
The complete process of magnesiumsmelting unfolds through a series of purposefully crafted stages: starting with raw material storage, progressing to dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, and culminating in reduction and refining. Initially, the raw dolomite is broken down into ideal sizes (20-40mm) using a crusher, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a cooler, and finely ground by a ball mill. This powder is then compressed into balls using a ball press. The calcined dolomite is then uniformly mixed with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to form a cohesive dough, placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. Within the reduction furnace, the temperature is elevated to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, where crude magnesium is extracted, further refined, cast into ingots, and subjected to surface treatment to produce finished magnesium ingots.
