Its innovative design enhances the magnesium extraction rate and optimizes silicon utilization, effectively reducing production costs and consumption of metallic magnesium,. It is recognized as the essential equipment for dolomite calcination within the magnesium manufacturing industry.
The comprehensive magnesiumsmelting process unfolds through a series of precise stages: starting with raw material storage, progressing through dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, and culminating in reduction and refining. Initially, the raw dolomite is crushed to ideal sizes (20-40mm) using a crusher, then sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a cooler, and finely milled by a ball mill. This powder is then compressed into balls using a ball press. The calcined dolomite is uniformly mixed with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to create a homogenous dough, placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. Within the reduction furnace, the temperature is elevated to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, enabling crude magnesium extraction, further refinement, casting into ingots, and surface treatment to produce refined magnesium ingots.
