It is recognized as an essential apparatus for dolomite calcination within the magnesium manufacturing industry.
The complete magnesiumsmelting process unfolds through a sequence of well-orchestrated stages: commencing with raw material storage, proceeding with dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, and culminating in reduction and refining. Initially, raw dolomite is crushed to optimal sizes (20-40mm) using a crusher, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a cooler, and finely milled by a ball mill. This powder is then compacted into balls using a ball press. Calcined dolomite is then uniformly blended with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to create a cohesive blend, placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. Within the reduction furnace, temperatures are elevated to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, where crude magnesium is extracted, further refined, cast into ingots, and undergoes surface treatment to produce pristine magnesium ingots.
